To the Women we Love and Respect

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape –
But a woman of strength looks deep inside to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn’t afraid of anything –
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear.

A strong woman won’t let anyone get the best of her -
But a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future -
But a woman of strength realizes life’s mistakes can also be blessings and capitalizes
on them.

A strong woman walks sure footedly –
But a woman of strength knows when to ask for help.

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face –
But a woman of strength wears an aura of grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey –
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Cheaters: Not just the guys fault *UPDATE* in red

    Pre Note/disclaimer:
I can't say all guys are the same. As we know not all women are the same. I'm going to the generals and the stereotypes, because they stand out the most out of the batch of great guys. I would also like to add that this is my opinion and in no way shape or form will truly explain all thoughts that go in the back of a guys mind, as we know sometimes there are no thoughts just action.
Lastly I would like to add that what is going to be written is not effecting my relationship with my wife, in which our marriage grows stronger as time goes, mostly because we really take time and care to work at it. We also love the challenge to prove all these statistics wrong. With love, laughs, and prayer we over come.

It's interesting how it is so much easier explaining why women cheat than it is for guys.

For women you can scientifically say that 8 of 10 cheat because:
    • She doesn't feel fulfilled by their partners one or another. Either he doesn't say I love you enough
      • (once a year on Valentines Day if he remembers.)
    • She wants more physical affection and he is not always around
      • (either long distant relationship, which almost never works) or
      • (he is out working hard to put bread on the table and she stays home all alone)
        • we'll touch on this one in a bit
    • She needs a companion that listens
      • (this one takes training on the guys part)
        • we don't want to come home after 8 - 12 hours of work and listen to another boss yapper
These are just some things that women might feel, if you notice I've pointed out a couple where a relationship might go sour.
I still argue sometimes that men are like majority of animals, I like to compare us to lions, but most of you women like to call us dogs. THIS MAKES SENSE. If I am a dog why don't I act like one. What do I mean by animal. In the animal kingdom most men instinctively have more than one mate. This is due to spreading our seed in more than one place, to seek more territory, and show the other males surrounding that we have are a big pack. In the early days of the bible (the old Testament), Moses, Abraham, were asked by GOD to attain more than one wife and create the world we live in. I'm not saying it's written the Bible so it's right. Those men were able to support the women, and their kids, and it was for GOD they were doing this it was part of HIS plan.
Now we have condoms and birth control, curiosity, and half naked girls prancing around in front of us tempting the lion/DOG.

Workaholic male: Let's take married who does work all the time to put bread on the table for the family. Most of the time the women is so resentful of him not paying attention to him, she doesn't take the time to tell him that she appreciates it. Women expect a lot of compliments, and have a tendency of not Paying any back. If women do this and give the man attention, just wait for all the attention that you will get from the guy.
He doesn't compliments he is gonna go somewhere else to get them. Doesn't matter if the other women is good looking or not. JUST ONE COMPLIMENT LATER a 5 will look like an 8 to the guy and an 8 is like a 12 in most guys' standards. (btw in women's standards the 5 is like a 3...in their opinion).

Doesn't want another Boss at home male: This somewhat ties in with the workaholic male but definitely a different take on it. We all go to work I understand that. We all have bosses that bitch and moan to us and make us do a lot more work than we get paid for. When men come home the woman likes to take over and be the boss. Guys don't do that. So what happens she bitches and moans, he shuts himself off, and gradually he starts leaving the house. Goes to friends houses, they start going to play pool, start going to the bar to watch the game. All fun and innocent, relaxing, just getting away from all the noise (metaphorically speaking). Then who comes along but women who wants to here about him, and wants get bossed around. Well things get started from there. If his wife and girlfriend paid attention to how his day went, instead of telling him how he didn't dry all the water spots off the white plates (which you can't see water spots on), he wouldn't run away to the bar.

Needs someone to care and show some jealousy: I've met the new generation of women. The girl who has been hurt in the past for being too attentive, suffocating, and clingy. So now she is too free and none caring with the guy. This leads the guy to stray and act single. You kinda become his backup plan/Fuck buddy. Who wouldn't want that right? Pretend you're committed go to most places with her, dates, outings, and trips. But when you want to hang with friends she leaves you alone and doesn't ask any questions the next day. There has to be a balance. If your guy or girl is going out find out where, question them the next day (was it fun? What did you guys do?). You'll make them feel that you care about them and the relationship, and it will be a conversation. JUST DON'T PESTER ABOUT EVERY SINGLE DETAIL. DON'T DIG ANY DEEPER THAN THE OTHER WANTS TO SHARE. Then you create balance. You share care enough for your partner not to stray too far. You will show concern about parts where you don't feel comfortable with (things that may have happened). You then will have an actual conversation and communication with your partner.

Keep away and stay on the correct road (this will be a long one): This is for the guy who goes to the places where he is gonna get himself in trouble. LADIES STRIP CLUBS are the least of your concerns, actually I'll go as far as saying you're almost better off being okay with your guy at a strip club, than the dance club. I've not once seen one of my friends or a guy around me get a strippers digits(phone number). In fact whenever I personally have gone to a strip club, I've wanted a girl to have sex with almost immediately, who else would I turn to but my wife or my girlfriend (easy access) after I've left the strip club. This is just it, women get mad at guys for strip clubs and being strippers where as I see them as your safest bet. If your guy says he is going to a DANCE CLUB, then he is getting off the road and into the arms of POTENTIALLY (i stress that because it won't necessarily happen) cheat. I have a tendency to go to even a wedding and scope the crowd of women dancing, let alone go to a club drink a few drinks, and my POTENTIAL of NEVER cheating turns around because I have strayed from the right path.
It's actually a very SIMPLE CONCEPT try to avoid putting yourself in tempting situations.

Don't just say you trust em, SHOW and PROVE it: I've seen this thousands of times. "Of course baby I trust you, but I don't want you to do this, this, and this." Then the guy gets a list of things he is not aloud to do when he goes out on a trip, or out to the bar with his friends. If a person real trust, they will let that person go without saying anything or asking for anything, just EXPECT THAT THE GUY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING. If you are not confident in the trust he will notice and he will start agreeing with your distrust (he will sought out to PROVE YOU RIGHT, if you still don't get it. HE WILL GIVE YOU A REASON TO NEVER TRUST AGAIN). Now I strongly believe that LIKE DOGS, guys are faithful to their owners. You own the pussy that gives the most and doesn't resist giving so we will be faithful. NATURALLY FAITHFUL. Don't give the dog reasons NOT to try other bones, he won't be curious to try them to see why you are NOT allowing it. Girls have this tendency to have these set rules in their heads that they like to enforce... HARSHLY. Keep your rules to yourselves, we have the same rules and morals in our head, WE JUST DON'T TALK about them. We believe (for the most part) on the same things. Karma, we wouldn't want you to cheat or do lousy things to hurt our feelings either (YES most guys have feelings too. WOW amazing huh?)

The stripper is working, she or he just wants your money NOTHING MORE.

But if you stay from TEMPTATION you will not get tempted and you will not come off the road.

Say he wants to go to a club with his friends (most likely friends are still single). His friends are gonna want to meet girls, or hook up. Most likely they'll need a wing man. Being the nice guy he does this (still with no intention of cheating), he starts a convo and hits it off.
If you don't go with your "single friends" you won't get in trouble.

Single friends tempt a guy A LOT. I personally have 3 single guys, but they are extremely chill, the one that goes to the clubs and parties knows not to ask me or tease me with it. It's respect for my relationship. I do remember when I was younger that we didn't have this respect for the coupled off guys. We didn't care who they were seeing or with they needed to be with us where ever we went.

The best advice for both sexes is Don't Wonder Off or Out of your Relationship path. Talk to each other know what the other wants and is ok with. Be faithful to each other, and work on the relationship, it's NEVER one sided work. STAY AWAY FROM TEMPT AND YOU WON'T be TEMPTED.

Quick Guide to Yosemite by Osh

    Intro:

Yosemite is a place of lovely views and sceneries, tree lined skies and granite mountains, streams, rivers, waterfalls, and lots of refreshing OXYGEN. Yosemite National Park is in the northern part of California. It’s dense with pine trees and has a beautiful valley of gigantic granite rocky mountains ideal for hikes and rock climbing or even picnicking under them.

    The Stay:

We stayed at the Curry Village in Yosemite Valley. I wouldn’t consider Curry Village as a roughin it up kind of place, it’s more of a luxury camping if you decide to stay here. The sleeping quarters are tent cabins, cabins that have no walls but they have a roof and a thick canvas material covering where you would normally have a wall. With that said, it’s ideal to reserve 6 months ahead of time for the summer place fills up pretty quickly. It’s a very family friendly place, with lots of accommodations for the kids, I have included all these below.

    Curry Village provides:

    • Food

    o Café

    o Buffet

    o Pizza

    o Bar/Pub

    • Accommodations

    o Large swimming pool

    o Bathrooms with hot showers

    o Towel service

o House keeping like bed sheet changes, more blankets etc…

o Night time Story telling at the outdoor auditorium

    o Educational tours

    • Snack and gift shop

    o Ice

    o Coal

    o Camping gear for purchase

    o Snacks

    o Souvenirs

    • Tour booth

    • Rentals

    o Rock Climbing gear

    o Bicycle

If you choose Curry Village as your stay, pack light. Pack for only the hikes that you may go on. We made the mistake of packing for almost 3 picnics worth of food and a 2 day hike. We only hiked one day and 1 day of picnic, we went to eat pizza one night, and the next coffee. So as you can tell this place provides most of what you need.

    Hiking:

We only have gone on day hikes. So I’m going to list things you can take (optional) and things you’ll definitely need. Some people go for 2-7 day hikes but you’ll permits and much more sophisticated things then I have ever used or needed on my hikes so I’ll leave the longer hikes alone.

Things to take with you for a day hike:

    • Comfortable hiking shoes (very important)

    • Back Pack

    • Cap or hat

    • WATER (at least 2 small bottles)

    • GRANOLA BARs

    • Trail Mix

    • Sun Glasses (optional)

    • Towel (optional)

    • Extra T-shirt (optional)

    • Sweater (optional)

    • Fruit (optional)

    More on hiking and routes:

We had taken the Mist trail up half to Half Dome 4.5 miles. It’s called “mist” because you walk past Vernal Falls and all the mist and water from the waterfall is spraying on the way up, YOU WILL GET WET (more so early summer than late). In my opinion this the most breath taking and beautiful route. After you pass Vernal Falls for another 30-60 minute hike and you get to another water fall Nevada Falls its worth to hike to at least the top of Nevada Falls (you’ve come this far).

Now once you get to the top of Nevada Falls you have a few choices. Go to Half Dome (4.5 miles of extraneous hike), Merced Lake (14 miles of moderate hike), or just head back down. If you decide to take the Half Dome hope you have food and water cuz it’s known to be 4 + hours hike. Merced Lake an easier hike (6 + hours) but be prepared to camp there for a night before heading back.

Heading back down straight from Nevada falls you have 2 choices. The way you came up Mist Trail route 2.1 miles back down, but remember you’ll get wet all over again. The other route is called Happy Isle 2.5 miles back, not as much of a watery route. More of a tree covered along side the granite cliffs route. Although in the beginning you get some great panoramic views of Nevada Falls, Half Dome and other surrounding mountains. Mostly you take this route because you don’t want to get wet and the route isn’t as steep as the Mist Trail. Just be careful on the Happy Isle trail this is also the trail they use for the horses and mules so there is a lot of poop on the ground.

    The End:

Altogether this is an amazing trip that whole family could love and enjoy. If you love the outdoors and wildlife this really could be an all inclusive place. There are a lot of routes to take for hikes. Nice drives to see enormous Red Woods, nice clear skies for star gazing, and the pizza tastes great after a good hike. Send any questions you may have I’ll try to answer as best I could. Other than that hope to see you in Yosemite.

    Meat, Cheese and Milk

It’s been over a year that I’ve been a flexible vegan. By flexible I mean I eat cheese and milk SOMETIMES when i can't avoid it.. We have replaced dairy with soy products and when we visit our parents we can’t expect them to have soy cheese and milk so that’s when the flexibility comes in. Other than that, I haven’t had trouble staying away from meat nor do I crave it. It’s more of a knowledge thing than will power and control. I believe if people knew about the foods they are eating well enough they would honor and take care of their bodies and health more.

Wanted to share a part of Dr. Fuhrman’s book from chapter 3 regarding US government of Meat, Milk and Cheese. On page 65 Dr. Fuhrman talks about our government spending more than $20 billion to support meat, milk and cheese industry. “This money is given to farmers to artificially reduce the cost of crops used to feed cows” this is to help reduce the cost of dairy foods. Sadly, fruits and vegetables are excluded for their support.

Out of one pocket, we pay billions of dollars in tax to support diseases causing foods. Out of the other pocket, we pay medical bills that are too high because our over-weight population consumes too much of these disease causing foods. The reality is that our tax dollars are spent to make our society sicker and keep our health insurance high.

Dr. Fuhrman is actually very anti  food pyramid because he feels that if each one of us were to follow it’s serving size we’ll all become a mummy. The pyramid recommends a lot of animal food servings that cause diseases and suggests we consume a huge quantity of low-nutrient content foods such as cereals, white bread and pasta. He also doesn’t agree the way foods are grouped together. For instance while nuts and beans are good for us, in that same group we have meat which contributes to cholesterol and heart disease. The data doesn’t allow enough vegetation for people to prevent diseases.

To prevent and reverse disease we shouldn’t yo yo diet but learn about nutrition and the quality of the foods we eat. Once we learn how to eat healthy, thinness and health will walk hand in hand, happily ever after.

    Eliza's Favorite Ellen Degeneres Quotes

I love Ellen. She is my favorite comedian. She is cleverly funny and all that without the cussing and the dirty stuff. Love her. Here are some of my favorite quotes by Ellen Degeneres.

We went to lunch and were talking about procrastination and the waitress overheard us and she said, "I have a problem with procrastination, too." I said "Really?... Get my sandwich."

That woman in the shampoo commercial - she's happy. She's... she's too happy.

[about call-waiting] It's turned into a mini people's choice awards. Hasn't it? And you find out right away who wins or loses.: You're having a pleasant conversation with what you think is a good friend. You hear the click. They tell you to hold on. You're confident they're going to come back to you. And then they come back and they say, "I've got to take this other call." And you know what that means what they just said to the other person? "Let me get rid of this other call."

Our attention span is shot. We've all got Attention Deficit Disorder or ADD or OCD or one of these disorders with three letters because we don't have the time or patience to pronounce the entire disorder. That should be a disorder right there, TBD - Too Busy Disorder.

What's with this sudden choice of disorders we get right now? When I was a kid, we just had crazy people. That's it, just crazy people.

[about talking vs. communication] Even when we say, "How are you?" we don"t mean, "How are you?" - we don't care. Just give us a "fine" or a "good" - a one syllyble answer and move along. And don"t even say "pretty good". That's a follow-up question: "pretty good" "something happen?... I don"t... have... time to..."

We stock up on popcorn and candy like we're crossing the Sierras, don't we? "I'll have a couple of soft pretzels, a hot dog, Milk Duds, Snocaps. Is that the largest popcorn you've got there, that bucket? You don't have a barrel or anything like that? Do you have a donkey or a pack mule or anything? - Oh, and a Diet Coke."

Procrastination is not the problem. It is the solution. It is the universe's way of saying stop, slow down, you move too fast. Listen to the music. Whoa whoa, listen to the music. Because music makes the people come together, it makes the bourgeois and the rebel. So come on people now, smile on your brother, everybody try to love one another. Because what the world needs now is love, sweet love. And I know that love is a battlefield, but boogie on reggae woman because you're gonna make it after all. So celebrate good times, come on. I've gotta stop I've gotta come to my senses, I've been out riding fences for so long... oops I did it again... um... What I'm trying to say is, if you leave tonight and you don't remember anything else that I've said, leave here and remember this: Procrastinate now, don't put it off.

"I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her."

"Stuffed deer heads on walls are bad enough, but it's worse when they are wearing dark glasses and have streamers in their antlers because then you know they were enjoying themselves at a party when they were shot."

"Have you ever heard somebody sing some lyrics that you've never sung before, and you realize you've never sung the right words in that song? You hear them and all of a sudden you say to yourself, 'Life in the Fast Lane?' That's what they're saying right there? You think, 'why have I been singing 'wipe in the vaseline?' how many people have heard me sing 'wipe in the vaseline?' I am an idiot."

"People always ask me, 'Were you funny as a child?' Well, no, I was an accountant. "

"One time I actually cleaned out my closet so good I ended up on the cover of Time magazine."

I’m a godmother, that’s a great thing to be, a godmother. She calls me god for short, that’s cute, I taught her that

You gotta watch her stand up shows especially Here and Now. Ellen Degeneres Here and Now Videos on YouTube

The Science of a Happy Marriage

I loved this article please visit this link for the full article as recommended by Dr. Oz http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/05/10/tracking-the-science-of-commitment/

"But it may not be feelings of love or loyalty that keep couples together. Instead, scientists speculate that your level of commitment may depend on how much a partner enhances your life and broadens your horizons — a concept that Arthur Aron, a psychologist and relationship researcher at Stony Brook University, calls “self-expansion.”

To measure this quality, couples are asked a series of questions:

How much does your partner provide a source of exciting experiences?

How much has knowing your partner made you a better person?

How much do you see your partner as a way to expand your own capabilities?"

"We enter relationships because the other person becomes part of ourselves, and that expands us,” Dr. Aron said. “That’s why people who fall in love stay up all night talking and it feels really exciting. We think couples can get some of that back by doing challenging and exciting things together.”

    Favorite Shoes of the Season

From Your Lips to your Hips

    Ch 2: Overfed Yet MalNourished
The Effects of the American Diet II as adapted from Eat to Live by Dr. Fuhrman

Our natural sweet tooth should really be for fresh fruits. Reasearchers have discovered  substances that help prevent aging and protect the brain. Too bad our desire for sweets is typically satisified by candy bar and ice cream-not fresh fruit. The FDA estimated that average American consumes about 32 teaspoons of added sugar in one day.

If you want to lose weight, the most important foods to avoid are processed foods: condiments, candy, snacks, and baked goods; fat free has nothing to do with it. You must cut down from refined carbs like bagels, pasta and bread. Pasta is not health food-it is hurt food.

Empty calories are empty calories. Cookies, jams, and other processed foods sweeted with fruit juice" sound healther but are just as bad.

Another way that will keep you from your weight loss are salad dressings. Oils are 100% fat. There are lots of calories in just a litte bit of oil Fat such as olive oil can be stored on your body within minutes from your lips to your hips. Foods cooked in oil soak up more oil than you think.Olive oil and other salad and cooking oils are not health foods nor diet foods. Oil will add fat to our already plump waistlines increasing risk of disease including diabetes and heart attack.

Cell phones Get in the Way

Much of my internet time is spent from work since I work in front of a computer 8 hours a day and massive amounts of gap time comes my way to browse and go on facebook  and whatever it is. I also keep my cell by me in case someone might try to communicate with me via text or very rare-a phone call.

I've been trying to turn my phone off when I leave work to stay away from all this technology but it's been tough. Since I went on my 40 day facebook fast for Easter, I haven't been able to not go on daily.

I was reading up on the nanny who called Ryan Seacrest yesterday and said something very true " Cell phones get in the way of quality time with parents and the kids" May I add it also does the same for couples with each other.

If you don't believe me, try to go on a date without taking your cell phone with you or even to work without it. How about when you're out with your friends leave your phone in your purse. It has almost become a vital necessity like really our lives depend on it.

Don't get me wrong. I love technology and the power it has given us to communicate with our friends and stay in touch with families that we don't see very often. However, I think it's become an addiction and it gets in the way of quality time and getting things done. .

I'll be the first to admit it. I really hate it. Just the other day I was tempted to throw my blackberry in the blender.

It's not a problem to use it and have one it's just I feel like we've become so attached to it that it's not healthy. We even eat our meals and go to bathroom with it.

    What do you think?

Digging Our Graves with Forks and Knives

The American Diet Part I as adapted from the book Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman

Obesity is the number one health problem in the U.S. and if the current trend continues by 2030 all adults will be obese.

Studies show the initial weight loss is followed by a weight gain because even most primary physicians fail to look at the long term health of their patients.

Obese families tend to have obese pets which is obviously not genetic. So it is the combination of food choices, inactivity and genetics that determine obesity.

Extra weight leads to an earlier death.

Since dieting almost never works more people are turning to drugs and surgeries.

Surgeries to Weight Reduction and it’s Risks: The National Institute of Health (NIH) has reported that more than 10% have to go back for a second surgery to fix the problems they are having. They might be experience metabolism problems, stomach aches, gastritis, outlet stenosis and even death.

Dangerous Dieting: Americans have become obsessed with gimmick dieting which almost never results in permanent weight loss and actually worsens the problem over time. Some people even gain more weight than what they first started off with. Low calorie dieting doesn’t work either. You may not know this but being overweight is not caused by how much they eat but what they eat.

Eating large amounts of good food is the key to your success.

Regardless of your weight and genetics you can achieve your goal if you switch to a high nutrient diet style. As long as you are eating fatty foods it is impossible to lose weight no matter how much you try to work out. Eating healthy and activity will do the work.

As a rule of thumb, for optimal health and longevity a man should not have more than one-half inch that he can pinch near his belly button and woman should not have more than one inch.

    Chris Brown Syndrome

I am not for abuse nor do I think should it be taken lightly but I do believe in forgivenss and true repentence. A lot of times we become professional apologizers but the fact is no one cares how many times you say "I'm sorry" what people actually care about is what you do after you say "I'm sorry" Do you repeat the same mistake? Do you genuinely take the necessary steps needed to try to correct the mess you made. Sometimes it takes time especially if the person is in the public eye. Celebrity or not, that person who just failed is human. Those who are so judgemental toward him, they have a good reason but I don't think they should continue hating on the guy. He deserves a second chance. Besides there are so many more people struggling with the same problem if they see that by coming out or seeking help won't give them hope they might as well continue living in the dark. However if they see that they can get help and change for the better, Chris Brown could be a good role model again.

Below are some facts and info about verbal and physical abuse. Personally, I think verbal abuse is just as bad as physical abuse. You can wound a person with one word just as bad as one slap. What do we do with the ones who cause us some much pain by the way they speak to us?
    http://helpguide.org/mental/domestic_violence_abuse_types_signs_causes_effects.htm

Here is the specific  link to Trauma and Abuse http://helpguide.org/topics/trauma_abuse.htm

Another genre of abuse that I feel strongly about is child abuse and that is the worst becuse a child is too vulnerable to even try to defend themselves. If you think it's not ok to hit an adult why do you spank?

When I asked my husband what has surprised him about married life he said “The stereo types aren't true if you don't believe in them. They actually become a funnier joke cuz they are not practiced in our relationship. "freedom, outings, speaking my mind, sex etc"

We get the impression from our society, tv and even from some of our well meaning  friends and family that marriage is the end of your life. When I was planning my wedding, I had a few people pat me on the back as if they were feeling sorry for me. It’s not the end of your life, it’s the beginning of a happy ending.

I think a lot of times these stereotypes with some based on true facts can be a heavy cloud hovering on the relationship. You don’t need to accept it as your own. We joke about it all the time but refuse to fall into that category.

If there are issues when after you get married, it probably stems from something before the marriage. A lot of times just like some married couples think that having a baby could save their marriage, they make the same mistake thinking that getting married may solve the issues they have while dating.

If you can't resolve problems with compromise, talk about issues, have fun while and enjoy life while you are dating. Getting married to fix those issue will only put you in a worse situation and make things harder. That's when you become the Stereo Type and your ending won't be happy.

To be happily married is  to make a decision to love and be there for the other person every day.

With God, all things are possible.

    Bachelorette Party

Both last year and this year we went to Adriatic Viall of Palm Springs with the girls for a Bachelorette Party.
Last year was mine which my sister in law organized and found this peaceful beauitufl place right by their downtown. http://www.adriaticvillaofpalmsprings.com/ . This year my cousin organized hers at the same place. It is just such a fun place to be with your girls. The rooms are very spacious. The one we stayed at this year was a Mediterran style room which even had a jaquzzi inside of the bathrooms. I definetly recommend Adriatic Villa.

Hairy Situation as adapted from Healthy Bitch Daily

I think a lot of times when something is aching or feeling wrong in our body, we go for a blood test or our doctor sends us to get one.  There are specific things that the doctor checks off on that blood test sheet for them to specifically look for-but even then it's not everything. When in doubt it's always better to get your hair tested.

When you get your blood taken by a physician or specialist, it only reveals 24 hours worth of your body’s chemistry. But at the root of your hair, six weeks of your body’s chemistry gets locked into your hair shaft as it grows from your scalp.

Feeling tired or burnt out? Maybe you’ve got adrenal fatigue. Since minerals such as potassium, zinc, magnesium, iron and calcium show up in your results, a hair analyst can identify an imbalance of minerals as an instigator of low energy, as well as which gland is weak. These glands may be tiny, but they are responsible for about 100 bodily tasks, including keeping your energy, hormones and sugar balanced.

Wonder if the lead in your lipstick or your hair dye is in your body? Or maybe why you’re setting off metal detectors like a damn lost treasure at sea? Too much mercury - Cool it on the sushi. If so, Meg puts you on the metal detox program to support your body in getting rid of toxic elements; email support keeps you on target.

You don't need to worry about a bald spot or wearing a a pony tail. Just cut underneath your hair in the back of your head about 1/2-inch in length.

    Rehab for the Bridezilla

I looked up Urban Dictionary for the definition of a Bridezilla: One ridiculous spoiled bitch that thinks she is the center of the universe, just because her "show" (the wedding) is 18 months from now. Everyone else in the world has to drop everything and come running in this prime-donna's mind. The marriage will not last more than a couple of years,if the groom to be is lucky.

"Man, get a load of that bridezilla. We should warn him that he will never have another blow job after getting married."

I've been wanting to blog about Bridezillas but been waiting for June to come around and the wedding season is finally here!

Speaking for my own experience a year ago, I personally just wanted to get the wedding over with and because I was having a wedding I knew I just wanted to have a good time. It's normal to be anxious, nervous, happy, overwhelmed and even a bit crazy, but don't drive the people around you crazy too!

Here are some tips on how to unbridezilla yourself:

    1. You're the bride, not the drill sergeant. Stop telling people what to do, screaming, shouting and stomping your feet. No one wants to deal with you.
    2. Everyone will have something to say about everything. Stop the bitchin and Get over it. Do what you & your hubby want.
    3. Your extravagant wedding won't determine the quality of your marriage. Less is more.
    4. If you have the money, please go all out but don't expect your guests to pay for it.
    5. Only your inner circle really cares  about your wedding. The rest come for the free booze, food,  to show off  their designer dresses, dance the night away and if lucky, hook up with someone.
    6. Your bridesmaids are not your slaves. Don't make them wear ugly dresses. Be considerate and let them go with what they're comfortable in-that way they'll like being your bridesmaid.
    7. Not everything will be perfect. If something doesn't go to plan the day of, it's too late. Just brush it off instead of stressing about.
    8. Lastly it's only going to last 24 hours. Why kill yourself, sever ties, and hurt others for something that is only going to last probably 16 hours of your life.
    9. Look at the wedding as a party to have fun, dance, and to show off your new spouse.
    10. Don't spend thousands of dollars on the cake. How much better is a $6K gonna taste??? Save the money and donate it to charity or save it for the honeymoon!

    Too Hot for Work?

Do you dress up to work? Or it's like eh whatever, it's just work I don't need to get all dolled up?

Well apparently someone got fired for dressing up, or I should say dressing hot to work.

I was listening to Ryan Seacrest this morning and he was talking about a CitiBank Employee in New York  City who got fired because she was too hot for the job. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/national/debrahlee-lorenzana-citibank-fired-sexy-20100602

All I gotta say is the silky shirt she has on in the picture is definetly not work appropriate.

My new Girl Crush: Tracy Anderson

Tracy Anderson, you know her and if you don't, then you must! She is the famous celebrity trainer for Madonna, Gywenth Palthrow, Kate Hudson and many more---well I love her style and fitness routines. She is all about being skinny and ripped, NOT BULKY. I guess it's ok for a guy to be buff but I think girls with dancer bodies are soo hot and Tracy helps with that.  She is so awesome and looks great. One of her methods which I've been doing and has been working  is to adapt to eating light and work yourself up to a good decent dinner. As far as working out it's all about cardio, movement, and lifting 3lbs weights and her thing is intead of increasing weight, you increase your reps! She has Madonna and Gywenth's routine on her website  http://action.tracyandersonmethod.com/

Restart or Jump starting your Spirit/Mind/Body/Soul again

We all get into a slump sometimes. When you feel like your just alive but not really LIVING.
Do you take a vacation to spice things up?
Pick up your favorite journal and write in all that you're feeling?
Go to your counselor/psych or best friend to vent?

How about trying to talk to GOD?
Feeling a bit down and out sometimes you feel helpless and you want jump start things again. I'm not a religious person but when I go to church and listen to their teachings I feel so much better. Even giving money to the church makes me feel better.
But mostly when there is a good preacher who cracks jokes and relates to us as humans and doesn't shove Jesus down our throats. Church becomes fun, and when you haven't gone for a while you kinda miss it. It is like a recharge for the week. You can get energized, uplifted, and feel full filled by the end of the service.

It only takes One and half hours MAX and you get this overwhelming feeling of triumph. Not only have you conquered the week's stresses but you get ready for the next week. On top of that you learn how to interact with people and your loved ones better.

Over all find a place you like. If it's hiking, if it's exercising, if it's reading an inspirational book. Find something that will "Restart your Faith/Mind/Body/and Soul"
MOST IMPORTANTLY have FUN WHILE DOING IT.

The Modern Girl’s Guide to Sticky Situations

Jane Buckingham’s Solutions for Sticky Situations as seen on the Skinny Bitch Newsletter~

      At Your Dinner Party …

Stuck: You Oversalt a Soup or Stew

In Luck: No worries, stick a piece of potato in while cooking and it will soak it up. Just remove it when done cooking.

      Stuck: Your Cake Collapses

In Luck: Make a trifle. Break the cake into bits and put onto bowls with fruit and whipped cream or ice cream. No one will know the difference.

Stuck: Your Outdoor Dinner Party is Being Overrun by Mosquitoes and You Have No Insect Repellent

In Luck: Offer each guest a half sheet of fabric softener to put through their belt loop or bra. Mosquitoes hate the smell of it!

Stuck: The Bread You Bought is Stale

In Luck: Sprinkle it with water, wrap in aluminum foil and heat in the oven for 10 minutes.

At Someone Else’s Dinner Party …

Stuck: You Don’t Know What to Bring

In Luck: Wine is fine but boring. Loose flowers are gorgeous but your frenzied hostess may have used all of her vases. So instead think about a potted plant (I’m all about cactuses these days) or an interesting beverage like Proseco.

Stuck: Your Ex is There … With Someone Else

In Luck: Don’t avert your gaze, look straight into his eyes, say hello and introduce yourself to his, um, friend. Chat politely, say nothing snide and move on. Do not sit near them and do not drink too much. The less said the better.

Stuck: You Want to Leave a Party Early But Don’t Want to Look Rude

In Luck: First and foremost, give your hostess advance warning. This will make it clear that it’s not about the party itself but a prior commitment. Make it swift and silent. No need to say goodbye to everyone. Just say a brief goodbye to the people you are directly talking with then find your host. Thank him and her, and point out some aspect of the party you enjoyed. Call the next day to thank the host again. If desperate you can always use the Fake-A-Call App on your I-phone to schedule an emergency call from what sounds like a real person.

      Fasting Detoxification

Since I previously wrote  So You want to Get Skinny blog I wanted to share the Fasting Cleansing we did a year ago. After finishing with our 6 week Eat to Live Program, we decided to do a cleansing fast for 21 days on liquids mostly to finish off  the detoxification process of the 6 week program. I know we're crazy. I don't know what we were thinking but we both agreed to it. If you ask us now to do it for a day we wouldn't be able to. It was like a divine appointment.

Prior to our fast I borrowed Jentzen Franklin's book "Fasting" to get equipped.  We stacked up on 100% juices and bought fresh fruit to make smoothies.

Of course there is never a convenient time to start and keep a fast. As soon as you decide on something like that, one way or the other someone will offer you your favorite meal or bring chocolates to work.

During the fast, the first 3 days were the hardest. You're body is getting rid of toxics and your craving everything. We both had headaches and were a bit edgy. After the 3rd day, the feeling of hunger went away and it became a lot more easier. Reading the Bible and prayer became literally our daily bread.

One of the websites that we got a lot of our info about fasting and the befits of fasting was from this fasting detoxification sitehttp://www.fasting.ws/juice-fasting/

Obviously just like anything else talk to your doc before you do anything like this.

We were able to keep it up for 12 days -that's when we starting feeling hungry again.

So you want to get skinny?

When you're fat there are the handful of people who let you know how fat you are and that you need to stop eating this and that to lose weight. There comes and day that you do lose the pounds and those same people then tell you how skinny you are and how you need to eat this and that. Don't listen to anyone.

You know your body the best. Do what makes you feel healthy. No size and no amount on the scale will make you any happier if you're not truly happy with yourself to begin with.

I've tried every diet you can think of. One day I got sick of it and the constant thought of "I need to lose weight". This happened right after we got back from our honeymoon. We had eaten so much,  I was at my heaviest on my wedding and even heavier when I got back. I just didn't like the stuffed feeling.

Two books changed my whole prespective on eating healthy. I had heard about the book Eat to Live from an inteview with Alanis Morisette. Three years prior to that during our visit to Barnes and Noble, I came aross the Skinny Bitch book which I bought and returned it the next day. I didn't like all the things they wrote about mostly because it was a vegan book. How can I not eat meat!??

After getting back from our honeymoon I read Eat to Live and did Dr. Fuhrman's six week plan http://fatfreevegan.com/blog/2010/01/01/eat-to-live-6-week-plan/with my husband. He lost 15lbs in 3 weeks and I lost about 5lbs. While I was writing about the book on facebook one of my friends mentioned Skinny Bitch again so I went back and got it again, this time ended up keeping it and becoming a huge fan of theirs. It's pretty much an all vegan diet.

What I learned from these books, I applied to what best fit me and Osh. It's been a year since we started this eating healthy and working out thing and we both have lost over 20lbs and I feel so awesome.

Educate yourself then make up your own eating and work out plan that works best for you and stick to eat. No all you can eats or weekend binging.

      xoxo
      Eliza

Let's talk about Dieting. Stop ITS SUMMA TIME (sorry that was lame)

      Diets, WHAT'S WIT DAT?
Should I follow the Sexy Bitch and go all vegan and never look back?
Or the Dr. who wrote "Eat to Live". Cleanse your body by going vegan for 6-8 weeks.
Then eat lean meat only 10-20% of the time. Lean = Turkey, Chicken, some Fish (like maybe shark i don't really know which fishes are leaner then others), Buffalo, and Pork. Little less Lean = Beef, Salmon, and the other fish I don't know about like WHALEs and Seagulls.

As a guy trying to lose weight while trying to look fit like Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) or Hanah Montana (who is really Miley Cyrus{"oh my god I didn't know that", just amazing how she can play totally different roles and personalities in the same show, and know can figure it out.}great actress).
I gotta ask what is the proper diet? Is the shake I drink contain a sufficient amount of protein to produce muscles, yet help me loose weight because I'm not in-taking fat?

I'm going to work on this current diet I'm on right now, and I'll report back to everyone the end of summer.
After every workout: A protein shake and some kind of Carb maybe croutons with Salad

Morning: Banana or other fruit, or a Diet supplement shake like a Slimfast, coffee with fruit is ok too

Lunch: Salad some crouton or raisins, with a vinaigrette type dressing or something that doesn't have too much oil

After work on the way to the gym: another Banana, and a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

Weekends: Have fun but try to squeeze in a fun sporty activity like hiking or swimming specially during summer
FOOD WISE: avoid 10 hot dog bbqs with a bowl of chips and 6 cans of beer, and that was just brunch.

TRY TO MAINTAIN what you do during the week but maybe splurge with some moderate starches; CORN, Baked potatoes. (YES PUT a slice of butter or a Tablespoon Sour Cream)
Your body does need fat too.

So far I've been doing this for 2 weeks, I'm noticing my weight to be maintaining and muscles a little more cut(ripped/lean) with a weight avg 192.

written by: Osheen  (haha imagine I didn't write that was written by me and you all thought Eliz was 192 lbs. How is that Skinny Bitch so skinny and weighs so much? HAHA) no really it's written by Osheen.

      Multiple Personalities

Eliza loves this subject. I don't know if everyone is like this but I haven't found too many people to do this. They adapt or imitate movie personalities as soon as they see the movie. They act like the characters from the movies they watch.

I'm not saying that you watched the XMEN and now you pretend you're Wolverine (you're not 10 anymore) slash slash.

If I watch Will Ferrel movie like "Anchor Man" (rumor there is a part 2 in the making...YESSS) I start ranting and raving like Will Ferrel in "Anchor Man". Eliza JUST LLLLOOOOVVVEESS that.

Does any one else do this that you know?

Is there a person or hero you look up to that you try to follow and imitate?

      Osh

Cabo is the craziest city we have visited by far minus the naked beach in Jamaica.

Tour guy: Are you guys married:

      Osh and El: yessss

      Tour guy: To each other?

      Osh and El: yah uh.

Tour guy: Kidding amigo, it’s a Cabo joke.

You’ve just got to put your “Just say no” cap on the second you land to Mexico. Everyone is trying to sell tours, activities, time shares and cocaine. Taxi is about $30 to $40 a person from the airport to the hotel. We passed on that offer and took the shuttle for $16 per person. The only difference in that choice is taxi is private and takes you straight to your hotel but shuttle stops at two markets for snacks and beer.

On the tour bus there was a time share/tour guide type guy. Trying to get you to sit on a time share and offers a bunch of free stuff if you sit on a meeting. I SAY DO IT. It’s a waste of only about 3 hours of your day. But it will save you about $200-300 in tours.

We did it the first day we got there. Got a free breakfast, they offered to give 2 free tours, and a tequila bottle if we saw their time share. We went in they picked us up for free, we ate they talked we said NO all the way thru to the end. AND got our vouchers for "Couples parasailing" retail 50 per person for only 15minutes, and "Jungle boat/booze cruise" all you can drink party boat for I think it was 3 or 4 hours long I DON"T RMEMEBER. retail 45 per person. VERY FUN. and the tequila better quality tasting than I thought.

To our surprise it was pretty safe walking outside of our resort and to the city. From our place to their downtown was about a 20 minute walk so we walked a lot! You can also take the taxi which come out to $6 - 8 a couple each time(but you have to negotiate and haggle). We liked walking. Their mall had cheaper souvenirs than the flea markets. If you’re planning on bringing back stuff, shop from the mall. Unless you want to buy fake Prada glasses then I suggest you going to the flea markets. In the flea market have a set price in mind that you want to spend on a certain item.

I wanted to buy 2 fake imitation glasses for $20. but the guy was asking $32 at first. I started walking away and they called me back and sold 2 for $20.

The prices are much more flexible than we gave them credit for.

Their beach is 10ft deep after 2 steps into the ocean! So good for snorkeling when the waves are calm.

They don’t card you anywhere for anything. No real age limit.

Lastly, if you’re vacationing with children please put blindfolds on while waiting for your flight in the airport because they had adult movies showing on their TV screen everywhere.
